This is something I've been meaning to do for a while now, but today seems like the appropriate day to finally get on with it

1. How can I tell if you are angry?

It's usually rather difficult to tell. Often, if I'm angry then I'm quiet and reserved, not really wanting to talk to anyone. If I'm ranting and shrieking, going off on one as is my wont, I am not actually angry. When I'm really angry, I am easily provoked, sensitive and very difficult to talk to. Bad moods often involve pacing about or staying very, very still.

2. How should I behave around you if you're angry?

Sympathy is the best way to go about it. If I'm angry with something in particular, yes. If I'm angry with you, then don't ask questions, because you will probably get more of a rant in your face than you thought you may.

If in a bad mood, some space and urging for me to have some sleep is a great way to start. If angry with myself, do not say a word.

2a. How would you like me to behave when I'm angry with you?

Try to be as sympathetic as possible. Also, point out things. Criticise if it's necessary. Be calm.

But I don't get very angry very often, and usually it's less with specific people and more with things that are going on that I Do Not Approve Of.

3. How do you want me to behave when you are hurting emotionally? How is it best to comfort you?

Hugs and LJ-hugs are good. I don't ignore LJ-hugs, in fact I appreciate them greatly! Even a short sentence on an LJ like 'I'm thinking of you' will be good, just as long as you acknowledge that you're understanding.

Be welcoming. Share things with me. Know the kinds of things that cheer me up, and try to steer the conversation (if we're having a conversation) away from what's hurting OR address it head-on so we can have a proper chat.

The simplest gestures are often the nicest ones. <3

4. Are there things we should not discuss?

No, unless they're very confidential to other people. I am perfectly comfortable talking about music, literature, politics, tea, everything - as long as the conversation doesn't get too one-sided.

5. How should I treat you if you are ill?

Don't fuss over me. If I have a cold, though, provide me with tea. Let me rest. Tell me ways that you or others can help, and I will listen.

6. What makes you happy, that's in my power to grant as a friend?

Tell me stories. Teach things to me. Introduce me to new things. Picspams are good, if on LJ. Allow me to make you happy, as well as vice-versa.

Go for walks, have conversations that go long into the night, watch DVDs. Let me cook for you! Cooking makes me happy, and appreciating it makes me even happier.

7. How would you like us to recognize your birthday?

Wish me a happy birthday on LJ or Facebook, or via text - even in a card! Any of those are absolutely fine.

8. Are there any standing categories of presents that would be appropriate or unwelcome?

Donations to good charities are always welcome. Books. Teas. Taking me to gigs (comedy or music), the theatre, or even just spending a day with me are great.
I also have an Amazon Wish List, if you are interested.

9. Are there times of the year that are difficult for you? Please explain if you are comfortable.

Februarys.

10. Are there important anniversaries that we should recognize in your life?

Not particularly, other than friends' birthdays and my parents' wedding anniversary (28th of July).

11. How do I cater for you if you are visiting me?

I am vegetarian, but other than that, not fussy about food at all. I love coffee and herbal teas. Chilli doesn't agree with me.

12. Who are the most important people in your life to whom we should defer when making plans on your behalf?

My parents. LJ-friends who are particularly close to me: [livejournal.com profile] reipan[livejournal.com profile] rionaleonhart[livejournal.com profile] scattermoon[livejournal.com profile] canadanne[livejournal.com profile] mirabehn and [livejournal.com profile] maliseadair, among others. My two best friends unfortunately not on LJ.
